The Euro-explorers visited the Office of the European Parliament in Greece, situated in Amalias Avenue in Athens. It is a Neo-classical building that belonged to Kyriakoulis Mavromichalis, politician of the late 19th and early 20th century who briefly served as Prime Minister of Greece. Kyriakoulis Mavromichalis was the grandson of the renowned hero of the Greek War of Independence (1821).

The building was impressive! It was designed by the Danish architect Theofilos Hansen in 1870 and restored between 2004-2007 by the architects N. Hadjikyriakos and G. Hadjidimitriou.
Our hosts were Mr. A. Kapetanidis from the Office of the European Parliament and Ms. D. Georganta from the Representation of the European Commission in Greece. They gave us a lot of information about the history of the building, about the EU, talked with us and made us feel welcome. We would like to thank them!
